About Me

Kate Fitzsimmons is from Denville, New Jersey and has been dancing since she was three years old. She was accepted into the Morris County School of Technology as a dance major, where she specializes in modern technique as well as ballet, jazz, and choreography. At school, she is also a part of the National Technical Honors Society, and the National Honors Society for Dance Arts where she was elected Treasurer. In VPA’s annual Backstage is Onstage and May Dance shows, she has performed works by Lisa Peluso, Alex Beigleson, Dona Scro, and Nicole Corea. She has also co-choreographed two pieces titled Beautiful and Broken and Demone Dentro that were performed at these shows as well. Outside of school, Kate trains at Danceworks Denville, and studies ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, lyrical, modern, pointe, contemporary, and musical theatre . She has previously trained at New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble. She has had a full AP and honors course load throughout high school and is currently doing dual enrollment at Montclair State University. Kate has been accepted to the University of Pennsylvania as a nursing major and will graduate in 2025. She hopes to become a nurse, but loves to dance and hopes that it continues to be a part of her life as she goes to college and beyond.
