Demone Dentro

Choreographed by: Kate Fitzsimmons and Haley Pietrowicz

Backstage is Onstage - January 2020

This piece was inspired by the feeling of paranoia. Demone Dentro means 'demon inside' in Italian, which encapsulates the idea that the paranoia inside each dancer would slowly show itself. Throughout the piece, the dancers progress from feeling okay, to being completely taken over by the demon that is paranoia. We choreographed this dance, to allow the dancers to let go and not have to worry about looking pretty. We wanted this dance to be an opportunity for the dancers to be able to feed off of the energy of each other be able to release tension.

Beautiful and Broken

Choreographed by: Kate Fitzsimmons and Haley O'Connor

May Dance - May 2019

This piece was meant to show the story of someone coming home from the hospital after recovering from cancer. The dance starts of with the family welcoming her back, but she is in a little bit of a trance. She has been gone for so long that she still feels isolated. She doesn't accept their help or dance together with them. Then, once she takes the bandana off, she has finally snapped out of the trance and is part of the group. We wanted to choreograph an uplifting and feel good dance where we could really come together as a group.
